Over the past three days, our Oakley students had fun competing in our Oakley Turkey Trot races. 4th and 5th grade ran their races on Tuesday, TK and 3rd grade ran their races on Wednesday, and 1st, 2nd, and Kinder, ran their races on Thursday. We had perfect weather and a fun and lively atmosphere, as our students raced and cheered on their fellow students. Good sportsmanship and positive attitudes were present throughout. The top boy and girl from each grade level won a turkey, a full bag of potatoes, and also a goodie bag full of fixings to make a full Thanksgiving dinner. The turkeys were provided by ASB, and the potatoes and sides were provided by the kind folks over at our local Brawley Grocery Outlet. The students had a blast and it was the perfect way to help bring our week to a close, as we get ready for a well deserved Thanksgiving break!
